Our Students

 All of our students all have Educational Health and Care Plans from their Local Authority.

Our students have a variety of identified needs including Emotionally Based School Avoidance, Anxiety, Autistic Spectrum Disorder (which may affect their speech and language development), Attention Deficit and Hyperactive Disorders (ADHD), Cognitive brain delay, trauma and sensory overloads, which have resulted in system shutdowns and meltdowns.

We provide a welcoming, therapeutic, and emotionally empathetic context for children who have experienced difficulties in mainstream settings, either as a result of specific learning difficulties or more complex communication and interaction difficulties.

In line with our school quote “I may not have gone where I intended to go, but I think I have ended up where I needed to be’, many of our children have found themselves on a different trajectory from where they started on their school journey. Northcroft School has created an environment and developed its vision and mission to ensure young people have  fundamental  support, get back on track and be where they can ‘feel safe, be inspired, where they can feel a sense of belonging again'.

Our school is a place to flourish and become the successful young people they so rightly deserve to be and where opportunities are presented to them to triumph.

With small class sizes, there is a wonderful sense of community and constant opportunities to build strong relationships between the pupils and the school team, who are just as important to us as our children!

Our separate therapeutic alternative provision farm and our therapy centre provide off-site therapeutic input and enrichment opportunities for all our pupils and additional enrichments.
